This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Guide and mentor a group of engineers, prioritizing technical excellence, productivity, and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical strategies are aligned with business objectives, converting high-level vision into actionable goals.
• Dedicate approximately 5–10% of your time to direct technical contributions, enhancing system performance and scalability through activities such as code reviews, architectural advice, and hands-on debugging during critical incidents.
• Promote an inclusive culture that values diversity, encourages work-life balance, and supports professional growth.
• Manage complex projects within regulated sectors, integrating security and compliance into all designs.
• Define the future state of the Billing domain for the next 12–24 months, translate that into team priorities and commitments, and take ownership of that narrative.
• Champion the use of AI-powered developer tools—such as agentic coding, AI-assisted code review, and LLM-assisted debugging—as an integral part of the team's software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Over 8 years of software development experience, preferably in the Billing sector.
• More than 5 years of management experience in engineering with a focus on delivering solutions that impact business outcomes.
• Proven ability to establish technical strategy and connect it to team execution—going beyond managing delivery to shaping the direction.
• Active user of AI-powered development tools and enthusiastic about incorporating AI into business solutions.
• Proficient in building roadmaps, planning for capacity, assessing trade-offs, and negotiating effectively with stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in attracting, retaining, and developing engineering talent.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, coupled with a strategic outlook.
• Strong ability to influence across functions—you build trust with non-engineering stakeholders (RCM, Finance, Accounting, Compliance) and adeptly navigate complex organizational dynamics without relying on positional authority.
