• Guide the automation intelligence product from its Beta phase through GA to a standalone commercial launch.
• Oversee engineering readiness, encompassing scope, estimates, service reliability, operating limits, API and MCP coverage, and launch evidence.
• Define and validate throughput, latency tails, rate limiting, and availability SLOs.
• Conduct staged detection rollouts using feature flags, rollback plans, and go/no-go evidence.
• Transform design-partner feedback and customer-reported false positives into prioritized engineering tasks.
• Establish and manage a weekly detection quality loop that includes test corpora, automated FP/FN testing, regression coverage, and drift monitoring.
• Enhance coverage for AI agents, assistants, self-hosted agents, stealth and anti-detect browser automation, and agent infrastructure.
• Advance the classification contract to incorporate automation type, identity status, confidence, and reason codes.
• Manage, mentor, and develop senior engineers while recruiting additional team members.
• Set team objectives, communicate decisions, establish engineering practices, and negotiate working agreements with a sibling team.
• Implement and assess the agent-first development model, publishing the resulting playbook.
• Maintain the agent harness as infrastructure.
• Ensure contract-first APIs with OpenAPI, CI breaking-change detection, generated documentation, and SDKs.
• Own observability through logs, metrics, traces, and SLOs.
• Within the first 90 days, finalize team ownership lines, launch quality and engineering baselines, deliver Beta-gate evidence, and review the AI-native operating model.
• Minimum of 3 years managing software engineers, preferably with experience in senior and staff-level individual contributions.
• Proven history of shipping products successfully through launch.
• At least 8 years in software engineering, ideally alongside management experience.
• Proficient in critically reading design documents and pull requests, engaging senior engineers on architecture, and making technical decisions.
• Relevant expertise in bot detection or management, fraud or abuse prevention, web security, client-side engineering, or high-volume API services.
• Experience with measurement-driven engineering, including test corpora, precision/recall or false-positive/false-negative tracking, regression suites, and SLOs.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, researchers, and customer-facing teams.
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate detection quality and launch readiness to executives and customers.
• Direct experience with bot detection, management, or anti-automation products (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI agent ecosystems (preferred).
