Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical advancement of Yuno's APIs and payment integrations by establishing architectural direction and engineering standards.

• Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop engineers while promoting a high-performing and collaborative engineering environment.

• Take ownership of system and integration architecture that connects backend services and payment processes.

• Actively contribute to development, architecture decisions, and code reviews.

• Promote best practices in API design, testing, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product, Backend, and Payments teams to ensure technical solutions align with business and merchant requirements.

• Guarantee that solutions are scalable, resilient, well-documented, and capable of accommodating enterprise merchants and global payment volumes.

• Provide engineers with technical guidance and architectural direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be located in Europe for remote work.

• At least 4 years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrated experience in managing and developing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.

• Strong capability to drive technical decisions and juggle competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Background in payments companies, payments-related teams, or experience with PSP integrations.

• Extensive knowledge of payments infrastructure, including network tokens, routing, and transaction optimization.

• Solid hands-on experience in backend engineering.

• Proficient in Java, Golang, Kotlin, or other similar programming languages.

• In-depth understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, and integration patterns.

• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.

• Knowledge of secure software development practices and OWASP principles.

• Experience in establishing standards for AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and code generation using LLMs and tools like Claude Code or similar.

• Proven track record of delivering in agile environments and adapting processes to meet the team's needs.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Advanced proficiency in English is required.
