Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Guide and mentor a diverse engineering team that includes Java, PL/SQL, QA, and DevOps specialists.

• Establish prioritization and escalation processes to minimize reliance on senior management and manage escalations within the engineering team.

• Supervise planning, execution, and delivery, focusing on quality, timelines, and operational efficiency.

• Offer hands-on technical guidance in Java, database systems, Oracle/PL-SQL, and architecture planning/design reviews.

• Ensure that engineering efforts align with strategic IT goals and the long-term technology roadmap.

• Implement governance measures for progress tracking and visibility through Jira and MoM, incident RCA, and release management.

• Promote process enhancements to transition focus from operations to strategic initiatives.

• Identify risks and proactively remove obstacles for teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12–18+ years of experience in software engineering.

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, database architecture, Oracle/PL-SQL, and system design.

• Demonstrated history of successful project delivery, technical oversight, and architecture governance.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.

• Knowledge of healthcare and compliance, including HIPAA and SOC 2, is advantageous.

• Preferred background in the healthcare domain.

• Experience in developing HIPAA-compliant applications.

• Proven experience leading multiple product teams.

• Onshore location is preferred or required.
