Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of software engineers focused on compute and platform engineering.

• Drive the architectural vision for the compute platform, prioritizing reliability, scalability, and developer experience.

• Actively participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of core compute services including orchestration, provisioning, scaling, and runtimes.

• Work in close collaboration with Infrastructure, Security, and Backend teams to define priorities and ensure seamless integrations.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and provide technical coaching.

• Promote a culture of ownership, engineering excellence, and ongoing improvement.

• Convert strategic goals into executable plans and ensure timely delivery.

• Shape the evolution of the platform through pragmatic, forward-thinking technical choices.

• Advocate for best practices in software development, automation, and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role.

• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS (including EC2, ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).

• Significant experience in building distributed backend systems using Golang.

• Demonstrated success in infrastructure, platform engineering, compute orchestration, reliability, and observability.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization, and service mesh technologies such as Istio and Envoy.

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CDK.

• Understanding of CI/CD automation tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar).

• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and monitoring/alerting best practices.

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to guide performance, set expectations, and inspire engineers.

• Strong technical judgment with the capability to balance hands-on coding with people management and strategic responsibilities.
