Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assemble and guide the initial team of engineers and data scientists.

• Create high-throughput services that analyze live traffic with minimal latency.

• Implement applied machine learning that operates within the critical path.

• Cultivate the team’s culture, establish standards, set the hiring criteria, and define working methods.

• Take ownership of team outcomes from start to finish, including delivery, production health, and professional development.

• Collaborate with lead engineers to set both technical and cultural direction.

• Make decisions that facilitate delivery and prevent bottlenecks.

• Manage the hiring process from the initial requisition up to the tenth hire.

• Provide clarity and create plans for work that is undefined or ambiguous.

• Ensure that deployed systems function as expected in a production environment.

• Lead by example while empowering engineers to take ownership of their projects.

• Successfully navigate an ambiguous, high-stakes charter without sacrificing quality or production standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven leadership in AI-related fields and personal expertise in leveraging AI for enhanced productivity.

• 8–10+ years of experience in engineering.

• Proven track record of leading teams that have successfully deployed and managed production systems.

• Strong technical expertise in systems, machine learning, or both.

• Experience in hiring and nurturing high-performing engineers and data scientists.

• Capability to oversee the delivery of an ambiguous, high-stakes charter from start to finish.

• Ability to uphold quality and production standards while achieving delivery goals.

• Hands-on technical leadership sufficient to guide complex decisions and evaluate work.
