This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Direct, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 9 direct reports across our Core (PLG) and DataIQ (AI/Agents) teams.
• Serve as a talent magnet by identifying, attracting, and successfully recruiting highly senior engineering professionals (Staff+).
• Advocate for experiment-driven development (A/B testing, rapid prototyping) to enhance our Product-Led Growth strategy, ensuring we create features that effectively drive user acquisition, retention, and monetization.
• Supervise the technical execution within our DataIQ team, steering the development of innovative, top-tier AI features and Agents.
• Lead all facets of the software development lifecycle across various pods, utilizing your extensive Agile expertise to continuously refine team processes, cadence, and predictability.
• Act as the technical translator and strategic collaborator, effectively communicating with product management, engineering peers, executive leadership, and other stakeholders.
• Manage performance, offer ongoing coaching, and proactively seek opportunities to help your engineers reach their full potential.
• Over 7 years of comprehensive software engineering experience, including a solid record as a Senior Software Engineer before transitioning into management.
• More than 3 years of experience managing software engineering teams, preferably overseeing multiple pods or a team of 7 or more engineers.
• Profound understanding of the Product-Led Growth (PLG) model, experiment-driven development, and contemporary Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Proven success in interviewing, hiring, and managing highly senior engineers.
• Outstanding ability to convey complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in full-stack web/mobile development, with proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (preferably TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB/PostgreSQL).
• Experience in effectively leading, motivating, and nurturing a strong culture within a remote or distributed work environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
