Engineering Manager, AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the technical vision, operational framework, and strategic roadmap for the AI Platform division.

• Manage standard pipelines, shared services, and operational methodologies for data and model enhancements.

• Spearhead the development of robust agent execution capabilities, encompassing orchestration, state and workflow management, reliability, observability, evaluation, and quality control measures.

• Create platform interfaces, reusable components, and engineering practices tailored for product teams.

• Formulate measurement, testing, evaluation, and feedback-loop methodologies for agent performance.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Mission, Security, and Infrastructure teams to drive platform investments and outcomes.

• Balance the aspects of speed, standardization, iteration, reliability, security, and operational risk.

• Recruit, guide, and nurture engineers and engineering leaders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in a managerial engineering role.

• More than 5 years of practical experience in machine learning.

• At least 2 years of experience developing agentic AI systems in a production environment.

• Proven experience in building or managing platforms utilized by multiple internal product or engineering teams.

• Extensive knowledge of production AI/ML or agentic systems, including orchestration, evaluation, observability, quality, reliability, and cost management.

• Experience leading teams focused on workflow, data, machine learning, or service platforms.

• Capacity to balance speed, reliability, security, and mission impact.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities across teams, stakeholders, and product interfaces.

• Demonstrated history of data-driven decision making.

• Exceptional communication skills, cross-functional leadership, and project ownership.

• Proficiency in Python, PostgreSQL or other relational databases, AWS or other cloud services, and distributed-system and workflow-engineering patterns.

• Willingness to travel for offsite meetings, team syncs, and customer visits.

• U.S. Citizenship is required to access U.S.-only data systems.
