Engineering Manager, Ads

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Guide, support, and enhance the skills of a team of software engineers, assisting them in increasing their impact and technical expertise.

• Direct your team in executing Firefox Suggest Ads projects, which encompass backend services, partner integrations, experimentation, measurement, reliability enhancements, and product-facing integrations that may adapt as privacy, policy, user experience, and business constraints become more defined.

• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional partners to manage uncertainties, especially in areas influenced by user data, privacy expectations, or policy factors that affect technical and product decisions.

• Guarantee that the software developed by your team is dependable, maintainable, and adheres to Mozilla’s standards for quality, security, and privacy.

• Foster an environment that enables engineers to perform at their best, including establishing healthy team processes, ensuring clear communication, and providing support during periods of uncertainty.

• Engage in hiring and onboarding processes to continually enhance and strengthen the team over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of professional experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a management role.

• A proven history of leading teams that effectively deliver production software.

• Strong decision-making skills concerning prioritization, execution, and balancing immediate delivery with long-term sustainability.

• Familiarity with contemporary software development practices, including planning, issue triage, and delivery workflows.

• Ability to work collaboratively with product managers and partner teams to achieve results.

• Experience in supporting engineers with diverse skill sets, backgrounds, and levels of expertise.

• Comfort in working within a distributed, asynchronous environment.

• Background in search, ads, recommendations, marketplaces, browser/client-platform integrations, or other privacy-sensitive product domains, or a demonstrated ability to rapidly learn complex areas where user trust, data practices, and business outcomes must be harmonized.
