Engineering Consultant – ASME Section III, Division 5

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide support for ASME Section III, Division 5 stress, fatigue, creep-fatigue, and evaluations at elevated temperatures.

• Assist in the maintenance of the existing nuclear fleet and the design of advanced reactors, focusing on high-temperature materials and code assessments.

• Engage with clients to deliver engineering solutions, interpret codes, and analyze results.

• Participate in the preparation of proposals for project development and scope definition.

• Oversee technical projects that deliver solutions to industry clients (mid/senior level).

• Identify and develop new leads and project opportunities with clients (mid/senior level).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Materials Engineering.

• A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in Design Engineering, specifically with ASME Section III, Division 5 for advanced reactor or elevated-temperature applications.

• Knowledge of materials degradation and high-temperature behavior, including aspects of fatigue, EAF, creep, and creep-fatigue.

• Expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, and Python-based analysis tools.

• Understanding of engineering principles, including Inservice Inspection and License Renewal (Initial and Subsequent).

• Experience with U.S. domestic commercial nuclear fleet reactor designs (PWR/BWR) and/or advanced reactor developments.

• Familiarity with NRC regulations and business practices.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including presentation skills.
