Engineer II – Virtualization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain solutions for virtualization environments.

• Manage open-source virtualization and VMware systems that support thousands of virtual machines.

• Conduct Linux engineering and administration tasks.

• Oversee, maintain, and operate a production environment.

• Diagnose server hardware issues.

• Automate routine tasks and deploy using an IaaS model with tools like Chef or similar.

• Engage in an on-call rotation alongside other team members.

• Implement public cloud and cloud administration principles.

• Develop simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, and alerts using technologies such as Python, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, or Go.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a large-scale production environment.

• Experience with OpenStack.

• Familiarity with Ansible.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a computer-related field.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for business-related group meetings.

• Ability to work effectively and professionally with cross-functional teams across different divisions worldwide.

• Capable of collaborating with a distributed team across multiple time zones.

• Must show meticulous attention to detail and have the ability to make sound, timely decisions.

• Ability to demonstrate self-learning capabilities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

• Experience with Chef, Python, Go, etc. is a plus.

• Proven track record of utilizing AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, enhance efficiency, and drive business results.
