This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Repair, install, and maintain various laboratory equipment products, which include incubators, centrifuges, cold storage (refrigerators and freezers), and additional equipment as required.
• Provide assistance with the qualification and validation processes for supported product lines.
• Support the On-Boarding and Training of new engineers.
• Schedule and complete thorough preventative maintenance services to ensure optimal uptime of customer equipment.
• Understand customer needs to effectively promote service contracts, services, and new equipment.
• Manage expenses and spare parts inventory promptly and accurately.
• Document daily service activities in the company work order database.
• Maintain courteous and knowledgeable communication with customers to ensure alignment on all aspects of the service event (status, cost, scheduling, etc.).
• Assist the Validation team as needed.
• Serve as the lead engineer on larger projects.
• Provide backup support for the supervisor.
• An Associate's Degree in Electronics or Engineering is required, or equivalent education and experience.
• Accreditation from a trade school in HVAC/R or as an Electronic Technician is preferred.
• EPA Certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in science, engineering, and/or customer service skills is required.
• A strong background in electronics/electrical and mechanical fields is preferred; refrigeration experience is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of basic test equipment such as DMMs, tachometers, temperature devices, etc.
• Demonstrated proficiency in LP product lines with minimal supervision.
• Proven experience in mentoring and training other engineers on challenging service calls that require technical expertise.
• Ability to efficiently operate computers, smartphones, and related software.
• Capability to work independently, diagnosing and resolving issues using schematics, diagrams, service manuals, and other user documentation.
