Engineer I, Global Trade – Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Compile technical data packages and identify the export control jurisdiction and classification of technical data, commodities, and software.

• Support the analysis and interpretation of requirements for "technical data or not" determinations.

• Manage export and import documentation for international shipments and evaluate shipments for classification concerns.

• Classify commodities utilizing HTS and Census Schedule B Export Codes.

• Keep the product master database current with HTS classifications and export classification decisions.

• Maintain expertise in U.S. and global export and import regulations.

• Comprehend classification On-Time Delivery metrics and turn backs.

• Review red flags or watch list screening results and escalate them following Global Trade guidelines and procedures.

• Contribute to and engage in internal compliance audits and export-control investigations.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• JCL 2 training.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory; only U.S. citizens are permitted to access information under this program/contract.

• Must reside in Puerto Rico.

• Proficiency in English required for reading, writing, and speaking when communicating with English-only customers, colleagues, or supervisors.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Physical Sciences is preferred.

• Detail-oriented and process-focused, capable of managing multiple tasks and adhering to specific deadlines is preferred.

• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access are preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and work collaboratively in a team environment is preferred.
