Engineer I, Global Trade – Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Compile technical data packages and assess export control jurisdiction and classification for technical data, commodities, and software.

• Aid in the analysis and interpretation of requirements for technical-data assessments.

• Handle export and import documentation for global shipments.

• Examine shipments for potential export or import classification concerns.

• Classify commodities utilizing HTS and Census Schedule B Export Codes.

• Keep and update the product master database with HTS classifications and export classification assessments.

• Maintain expertise in U.S. and international export and import regulations.

• Comprehend classification on-time delivery metrics and turnbacks.

• Review red flags or watch-list screening results and escalate them according to Global Trade guidelines and procedures.

• Assist in and take part in internal compliance audits and export-control investigations.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

• The selected candidate must reside in Puerto Rico.

• Bachelor’s degree is required.

• Completion of JCL 2 training is necessary.

• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking is required for relevant communications.

• Detail-oriented and process-focused, capable of managing multiple tasks and adhering to specific deadlines.

• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.

• Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings.

• Capability to work effectively in a team environment.

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Physical Sciences is preferred.
