This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain scalable backend microservices utilizing C#, .NET, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS, enhancing the reliability of Xero's document ecosystem.

• Introduce new features and enhancements to document ingestion, processing, and data extraction pipelines, ensuring high-quality standards and test coverage.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to provide outstanding user experiences that simplify financial management for our clients.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within Xero's technology stack, assisting in root-cause analysis and applying lasting solutions.

• Compose and uphold clear technical documentation, including architecture notes and data flow diagrams, to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in developing, delivering, and maintaining highly scalable production systems using a wide array of tools and technologies across the complete stack of our products.

• Practical experience with various programming languages and tools, with proficiency in C#, .NET, Docker, Kubernetes, New Relic, and AWS.

• Capable of diagnosing and resolving complex problems within legacy applications/technologies to support team progress.

• Create and revise technical documentation for both existing and new systems, including architecture diagrams and data flows to enhance maintainability and knowledge sharing.

• Able to take ownership and drive high-impact, medium-scale initiatives within the team.

• Competent in refactoring complex, monolithic systems into scalable and resilient components.

• Well-versed in DevOps and CI/CD concepts and tools.

• Strong proponent of the testing pyramid and automated tools to safely and frequently deploy code.

• Capable of reviewing and coordinating team processes to elevate quality and reinforce feedback loops.
