This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Become a part of GAI’s Power Delivery team and engage in transmission line projects.
• Deliver technical leadership and perform reviews of client transmission line designs.
• Ensure project scope, schedule, budget, and quality are maintained.
• Execute daily project tasks to guarantee successful project outcomes.
• Review and prepare specification packages.
• Review and produce structural and fabrication drawings.
• Design, analyze, and review transmission lines utilizing PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE; familiarity with PLS-Tower is an advantage.
• Review, design, and evaluate foundations.
• Assess existing and proposed structures in accordance with client requirements, codes, standards, and specifications.
• Conduct electrical clearance checks and calculations.
• Implement engineering principles in Power Delivery project design.
• Undertake complex engineering tasks following established processes.
• Apply engineering methods, offer technical guidance, and support engineers and designers.
• Manage projects of varying scopes and values directly.
• Design comprehensive projects, systems, components, or processes.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and project-related documents.
• Conduct analyses and interpret test data.
• Review project documents to ensure conformity and quality assurance.
• Delegate tasks to both technical and non-technical staff.
• Plan and coordinate engineering activities.
• Draft scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Assist in developing proposals for professional services or engineering project funding.
• Mentor junior personnel and review their work products.
• Participate in project meetings and present engineering assignments.
• Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution is mandatory.
• A degree in Civil or Electrical engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in transmission line design.
• Proficiency in using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE is essential.
• Experience with PLS-TOWER and FAD Tools is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electric utility transmission line engineering and design is necessary.
• Proven experience in transmission line design.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Organized and team-oriented, with the capability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
• Developed technical, communication, and computer skills.
• A demonstrated history of engaging with external customers and building as well as maintaining client relationships.
• Capacity to work indoors in a professional office environment and sit for extended periods while performing computer-related tasks.
• Willingness to travel for meetings, training, or business purposes.
• Valid Driver's License.
