Energy Services Technician I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Deliver proactive maintenance services such as infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, motor circuit analysis, oil sampling, and/or vibration analysis.

• Utilize industry-standard repeatable testing techniques, established MRES analysis methods, and approved reporting systems.

• Prepare, evaluate, and convey test findings to clients.

• Offer immediate on-site recommendations and follow up with report analyses.

• Adhere to MRES standard operating procedures for on-site service provision.

• Comply with MRES, industry, and customer safety regulations and applicable safety policies.

• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients.

• Advocate for proactive maintenance services by informing members and customers about program advantages.

• Represent MRES in industry, development, and project committees, task forces, and conferences as assigned.

• Generate and assist in maintaining permanent records of projects, data, and software.

• Travel to customer locations, which constitutes the majority of the role, including several overnight stays monthly.

• Stay updated on relevant professional, industry, and inter-utility advancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• One year of relevant experience and/or training in mechanical and/or electrical fields within commercial or industrial maintenance, or proactive maintenance-related training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficient in basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Capable of calculating rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpreting bar graphs.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

• Skilled in addressing problems that involve several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Familiarity with database software.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Knowledgeable in contact management systems and Internet software.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

• Must hold a Level I certification in infrared thermography, ultrasonic detection, motor testing, and/or other MRES-approved services, or the ability to obtain this certification within six months of hiring; or a Vibration Analyst Category I certification, or the ability to secure this within one year of hiring.

• Willingness to travel by motor vehicle, work at customer locations, and stay overnight multiple times per month.
