Energy Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare, review, update, and deliver engineering reports related to Technical Assistance projects within DOE/CMEI program offices.

• Create, revise, and manage project plans, standard operating procedures, technical workflows, and documentation that support Technical Assistance delivery.

• Provide autonomous technical project support, ensuring precision, clarity, and adherence to DOE/CMEI guidelines in engineering work.

• Examine scientific and engineering data, identify trends, and conduct quality-control checks to verify accuracy and consistency.

• Assist DOE in assessing energy technologies, systems, and processes pertinent to critical minerals, manufacturing innovation, energy efficiency, and advanced energy systems.

• Ensure transparency and compliance with federal advisory and assistance service requirements throughout all engineering deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS or MA/MS degree in engineering or a related discipline.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.

• 3 to 10 years of pertinent experience in energy or environmental engineering.

• Capability to execute functional responsibilities independently in support of DOE programs and Technical Assistance projects.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a federal clearance up to Top Secret/DOE Q clearance levels.

• Strong engineering background with a proven ability to independently perform energy-related technical tasks.

• Proficient in interpreting, analyzing, and validating scientific data and engineering information.

• Exceptional technical writing abilities.

• Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite.

• Willingness to familiarize oneself with DOE systems such as STRIPES, FAST, PAGE, and PMC.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
