Employment Lawyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Prepare, assess, and negotiate employment contracts, separation agreements, employee handbooks, workplace policies, and various labor and employment-related documents.

• Offer legal advice on wage and hour compliance, discrimination allegations, pay transparency, workplace investigations, and employee relations.

• Partner with clients, HR departments, and business leaders on workforce management initiatives, employment disputes, and compliance projects.

• Oversee employment-related legal matters for clients within the manufacturing, automotive, retail, and technology sectors.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to deliver proactive guidance on evolving labor and employment laws.

• Provide specialized legal advice and support to clients in the Detroit metro area, ensuring compliance and reducing employment-law risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and employment law.

• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and related workplace compliance requirements.

• Demonstrated success in advising clients on avoiding employment litigation, conducting workplace investigations, developing policies, and implementing risk management strategies.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, technological, and problem-solving abilities.

• Juris Doctor degree or its equivalent.

• Licensed to practice law in Michigan or eligible for admission.

• Experience in employment litigation and multi-state compliance issues.

• Certifications such as SHRM, HRCI, or other relevant employment law or HR-related credentials are advantageous.
