This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on enhancing performance, addressing conduct issues, managing interpersonal conflicts, and intervening early in issues.

• Assist managers with performance enhancement plans, offering support on documentation, procedural steps, and ensuring consistent application.

• Conduct and document investigations related to employee relations, including instances of misconduct, policy breaches, and workplace grievances.

• Collect and analyze information through interviews and document examination; create summaries of investigations and recommendations.

• Present investigative outcomes and suggested actions to HR Business Partners and organizational leaders, facilitating communication with affected employees.

• Elevate intricate, sensitive, or high-risk situations in line with established escalation protocols.

• Engage in and document discussions for accommodations, collaborating with managers, benefits partners, and legal advisors.

• Work alongside HR Business Partners to ensure uniform employee relations practices throughout the Americas, including Quebec.

• Oversee involuntary termination processes, including managing Workday transactions, payroll notifications, systems access, and exit logistics.

• Recognize trends in employee relations cases and contribute to the development of ER tools, training, policy clarifications, and broader HR compliance initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in Human Resources focused on employee relations, including support for performance management, workplace investigations, and involuntary terminations.

• Practical experience in coaching managers during performance and conduct discussions.

• Background in supporting or leading employee relations investigations of low to moderate complexity.

• Experience assisting employees across various jurisdictions in North America (U.S., Canada, and/or Mexico).

• Strong understanding of employee relations principles, corrective actions, and performance management methods.

• Basic investigation skills, including interviewing, fact-finding, documentation, and issue analysis.

• Good judgment and the ability to discern when to escalate matters to senior ER or legal partners.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.

• Strong active listening abilities and the capacity to establish rapport with employees and managers.

• Capability to manage multiple cases concurrently while adhering to deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.

• High level of professionalism, discretion, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with HR Business Partners, organizational leaders, and cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in functioning effectively in a matrixed and sometimes global environment.

• Cultural awareness and sensitivity when engaging with employees from diverse regions and backgrounds.

• Understanding of employment laws and regulations relevant to the assigned geographical area.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR case management systems.
