This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete delivery of employee benefits programs for Happl's US clientele, encompassing open enrollment, onboarding of new hires, modifications to plans, and renewals.
• Serve as the primary contact for US clients regarding benefits inquiries, escalations, and issues with carriers or vendors.
• Collaborate with insurance carriers, broker partners, and other vendors to address concerns and ensure the smooth operation of plans.
• Manage compliance and administrative tasks, which include supporting ACA reporting, COBRA administration, ERISA disclosures, issuance of ID cards, plan documentation, and adherence to state-specific regulations.
• Identify compliance risks proactively and collaborate with customers and internal teams for resolution.
• Maintain up-to-date internal US compliance playbooks and processes in accordance with changing regulations.
• Work with the Product and Engineering teams as the subject-matter expert on US employee benefits, translating market, carrier, and regulatory insights into product specifications.
• Assist in defining the roadmap for US-specific features and prioritize enhancements to products.
• Advocate for the needs of the US market in internal planning and relay Happl's product roadmap to US customers and prospects.
• Aid in sales discussions and facilitate deal closures for new US clients.
• Provide customer success support for US accounts as necessary.
• Solid understanding of US employee benefits, including various plan types, carriers, enrollment cycles, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and pertinent state regulations.
• Ability to seamlessly shift between strategic discussions and detailed, manual administrative tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, remote-first work approach.
• Sufficient overlap with Eastern time to assist US customers and collaborate with the broader Happl team.
• Previous experience as a licensed benefits broker or within a brokerage is appreciated but not mandatory.
• Experience in an insurtech, benefits platform, or PEO/HRIS organization is advantageous.
• Technical aptitude; comfortable working with spreadsheets and familiar with software development processes.
