Embedded Software Engineer, Robotics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Acquire knowledge of the current firmware and hardware during the transition period and document observations.

• Sustain and enhance firmware for the robot's controllers and sensors.

• Establish and troubleshoot communication among devices, the PLC, and the cloud platform.

• Initiate, test, and resolve hardware issues on-site using an oscilloscope and logic analyzer as necessary.

• Implement versioning, testing, and release protocols for the firmware.

• Collaborate with the platform team to ensure reliable data transmission from devices.

• Take ownership of the firmware and device aspects of the system alongside a second embedded engineer and a PLC engineer post-handover.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in embedded development using C or C++.

• Proven experience with firmware that is operational in production environments, not limited to lab or university projects.

• Familiarity with at least one Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) or embedded Linux.

• Knowledge of industrial or vehicle bus protocols (such as CAN, Modbus, or similar).

• Proficiency in reading schematics and debugging hardware.

• Readiness to travel for the handover and on-site work.

• Proficient in English.

• Spanish language skills are advantageous.

• Preferred: Experience in robotics or motion control, ROS 2, safety-related development, and Python for testing tools.
