
Electrical Wiring Designer 3 – Nuclear Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate within a project team to design, modify, and enhance both new and existing electrical systems for power plants.
• Create single-line diagrams, relay and metering diagrams, AC and DC schematic diagrams, synchronizing diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Review and verify drawings generated by other team members.
• Assess and integrate vendor drawings into the overall project design.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical wiring design challenges both independently and collaboratively within a design team.
• Potentially support field walkdowns and data collection at client locations.
• Offer guidance on drafting tools and mentor junior drafters and designers.
• Assist engineers in determining initial design requirements.
• Visualize plans and details to effectively communicate wiring termination specifications.
• An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma along with equivalent technical design experience.
• A minimum of four years of hands-on experience in detailed wiring design, including the development of single-line, relay, and metering diagrams.
• Proficiency with medium-voltage and 480V systems.
• Knowledge of digital control systems.
• Capability to generate wiring diagrams and schematics suitable for installers and electricians.
• Ability to assist engineers with initial design requirements.
• Skill in conceptualizing plans and details that accurately convey wiring termination specifications.
• Extensive experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation design on power plants or large facility projects.
• Solid understanding of drafting and design principles and practices.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with engineering and design teams across various disciplines in the power plant design process.
• Must possess authorization to work in the U.S.; Sargent & Lundy does not provide sponsorship for U.S. work authorization.
• A 4-year degree related to Electrical or Electronics Engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
