Electrical Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Install electric vehicle charging stations.

• Adhere to work instructions, electrical designs, cable calculations, and installation guides to ensure the correct installation of EV chargers from various manufacturers.

• Collaborate with the Supervisor and provide updates regarding the EV charge point installations on their projects.

• Comply with all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain safe working conditions.

• Follow site-specific Programmes of Work.

• Complete Electrical Installation Certificates using a tablet device.

• Keep accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.

• Prepare and submit reports on completed work, highlighting any encountered issues and the resolutions applied.

• Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.

• Engage in training sessions and team meetings to remain informed and share best practices.

• Assist and support maintenance contracts by conducting routine and preventive maintenance on EV charging stations to ensure peak performance and availability.

⛳️ Requirements

• A FETAC / Level 6 qualification in electrical installation, or an equivalent recognized qualification, such as those from City & Guilds or a comparable European standard.

• Electricians must possess practical experience in electrical work and be knowledgeable about Irish regulations, particularly the National Rules for Electrical Installations (I.S. 10101).

• Irish SafePass or equivalent certification.

• Demonstrated experience in electrical installations, preferably within the EV charging systems or renewable energy sectors.

• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electrical and software-based systems.

• Full, clean driving license (B Category).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• A proactive and self-motivated work approach.

• Experience with DC chargers ranging from 50kW to 400kW DC (Desirable).

• QQI Level 6 Electrical Testing & Verification (Desirable).

• Safe Electric – Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Course (Desirable).
