Electrical Engineer III – Data Center Load Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the design of electrical systems and conducting design calculations.

• Responsible for the review, signing, and sealing of projects.

• Evaluate submittals, RFIs, change orders, prepare record drawings, conduct site visits, perform inspections, and engage in commissioning activities.

• Develop and revise electrical equipment specifications, select appropriate equipment, electrical systems, and devices.

• Ensure that projects are completed accurately, within established deadlines, and adhere to budget constraints.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience in Electrical Engineering design within the construction sector.

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

• A valid Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Familiarity with load planning and programming is advantageous.

• Coding experience is a plus.

• Proven experience designing power systems for data centers, commercial office spaces, manufacturing facilities, medical buildings, or other substantial commercial projects.

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and mentor junior personnel.

• Strong knowledge of National and International Building Codes and NFPA Standards.

• Advanced understanding of equipment power requirements, including large-scale standby and emergency power systems, along with interactive generator control systems.

• Experience in producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies is preferred.

• Familiarity with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications is preferred.

• Capacity to think strategically and demonstrate adaptability to achieve long-term objectives.

• Self-driven, comfortable with uncertainty, and eager to collaborate within a team environment.

• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.
