This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Lead the evaluation of electrical engineering for potential sites, colocation capacity, and build-to-suit prospects.
• Manage technical assumptions regarding power distribution topology, capacity, and equipment strategy that contribute to the pre-construction risk register.
• Analyze utility interconnection, on-site generation, and redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N) in relation to site conditions and load requirements.
• Provide Go / No-Go recommendations on electrical feasibility as projects progress through critical development phases.
• Deliver a technically validated electrical scope to the Delivery organization, ensuring thorough documentation and minimized risks.
• Lead electrical due diligence for potential sites, existing facilities, and colocation capacity under consideration.
• Assess utility capacity, interconnection queue status, substation requirements, and on-site generation/UPS strategies against anticipated IT load.
• Evaluate the availability of electrical equipment, lead times (transformers, switchgear, generators), and vendor limitations that may influence schedule or capital expenditures.
• Ensure that electrical assumptions are fully incorporated into project budgets, capacity models, and timelines.
• Collaborate with Engineering to define the power distribution topology and redundancy strategies tailored to each site and deal structure.
• Evaluate EPMS/BMS controls integration and electrical system commissioning requirements at the onset of the acquisition process.
• Provide technical insights on switchgear, UPS, and generator selection, redundancy strategies, and capital expenditure considerations across candidate sites.
• Ensure that the electrical design intent is maintained as deals transition from negotiation to development.
• Establish electrical technical readiness criteria as part of the project handoff standards.
• Confirm that electrical design assumptions, equipment specifications, and capacity commitments are finalized prior to handover to Delivery.
• Identify and mitigate electrical technical risks before they affect construction.
• Act as the primary electrical engineering technical liaison among Site Selection, Technical Due Diligence, Development, Energy, and Delivery.
• Coordinate with consulting engineers, utility providers, equipment suppliers, and commissioning agents to validate feasible electrical strategies.
• Align internal stakeholders and external consultants to prevent technical scope deviation as projects transition from acquisition to development.
• Over 8 years of experience in data center electrical engineering, power systems design, or mission-critical electrical systems.
• Proficient in medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and utility interconnection for high-density AI/hyperscale environments.
• Strong comprehension of electrical capacity planning, redundancy topology (N, N+1, 2N), equipment selection, and capital expenditure trade-offs in data center design.
• Experience in assessing the electrical feasibility of sites or facilities prior to commercial commitments.
• Exceptional communication and executive presentation abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Competitive compensation
• Career growth and learning opportunities
• Flexibility and ownership
• Collaborative and innovative culture
• Opportunity to work on impactful AI projects
• International environment and talented teams
