This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Contribute to the design of electrical systems for mission-critical and data center facilities, encompassing medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency power, lighting, grounding, and life safety systems.
• Conduct electrical calculations and assist in sizing equipment, performing load calculations, and executing engineering analyses.
• Create electrical plans, one-line diagrams, schedules, details, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Implement relevant codes and standards, including the NEC, in electrical design and documentation.
• Collaborate on electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, and other disciplines.
• Aid senior engineers in troubleshooting technical and construction-related challenges.
• Engage in project meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Enhance understanding of data center electrical systems, focusing on reliability, redundancy, and maintainability requirements.
• Pursue the development of technical and professional capabilities through project involvement, mentorship, and training.
• Participate in high-profile, fast-paced data center projects for international clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Over 2 years of experience in building MEP electrical design.
• Familiarity with Revit and ACC is preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical power systems and engineering calculations.
• Experience with SKM or ETAP is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Awareness of relevant building codes, including IBC and IECC.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
• EIT certification or progress toward a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.
• Experience or exposure to mission-critical, data center, healthcare, or other complex building projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with data center electrical systems, reliability, redundancy, and maintainability concepts is a plus.
• Interest in mission-critical and hyperscale data center design and industry standards.
• Must reside in the United States where AECOM has an office.
