Electrical Engineer, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design and execute electrical systems for hyperscale data centers, encompassing medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency systems.

• Conduct electrical calculations and create drawings in accordance with client requirements and industry standards.

• Create and update electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings.

• Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations, including the National Electrical Code (NEC).

• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to establish specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.

• Stay updated on developments in electrical engineering and data center technologies.

• Partner with global AECOM teams on prominent, fast-paced data center projects for international clients.

• Engage in hands-on, client-facing project activities.

• Participate in occasional client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business-critical events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering.

• Over 6 years of MEP design experience.

• Experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.

• Proficiency in Revit and ACC.

• Familiarity with power system analysis tools such as SKM or ETAP.

• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

• Knowledge of building codes, including IBC and IECC.

• Professional Engineer License (P.E.).

• Preferred familiarity with mission-critical infrastructure standards and data center design requirements.

• Preferred experience with data center design and construction.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.

• Must be eligible for U.S. employment authorization; sponsorship will not be available now or in the future.

• Ability to attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
