This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Plan, coordinate, and assess the engineering and design of electrical power, lighting, and electronic systems.
• Supervise the design of integrated facility systems, which encompass fire alarm and life-safety systems, inmate duress systems, paging and communication systems, security and control center systems, as well as emergency power and generator systems.
• Review electrical designs created by contracted architect-engineer firms for correctional facilities.
• Evaluate designs for thoroughness, technical correctness, appropriateness, constructability, and adherence to relevant codes and standards.
• Oversee the formulation and upkeep of electrical and electronic engineering guidelines, standards, and design criteria.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with authorized electrical and electronic engineering designs, standards, and specifications.
• Offer technical assistance for site evaluation and acquisition efforts.
• Must hold a current and valid Professional Engineer license.
• Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive FBOP background check.
• In-depth understanding of electrical and electronic engineering principles and practices.
• Extensive familiarity with building and site electrical systems, communication systems, security systems, and associated electronic systems.
• Knowledge of relevant architectural and engineering fields, including structural, mechanical, and civil engineering.
• Significant experience with construction methods, materials, installation techniques, and building systems.
• Understanding of applicable building codes, electrical codes, fire codes, and life-safety regulations.
• Awareness of correctional facility operations and standards set by the American Correctional Association.
