Electrical BIM Modeler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain three-dimensional models utilizing BIM software.

• Work in partnership with contractors, engineers, and members of the construction planning services team.

• Ensure that models are precise and fulfill project specifications.

• Utilize models to detect and address conflicts or issues throughout the design stage.

• Generate electrical installation drawings for job sites employing innovative and efficient methods.

• Leverage BIM/VDC expertise to size, assess, select, and specify raceway and wire routing for electrical power, lighting, and auxiliary systems.

• Employ Southwire technology tools alongside industry-standard BIM/VDC tools and technologies.

• Create wire routing layouts and wire BOMs to facilitate efficient building wire installation.

• Prepare and modify plans, diagrams, details, and other documentation throughout the design and construction phases.

• Construct three-dimensional models of electrical systems.

• Align project specifications with construction documents and contractor preferences.

• Perform additional assigned responsibilities.

• Adhere to all policies and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree.

• 2-4 years of relevant experience.

• Field of Expertise: Electrical Modeling/Design.

• Proficient in Autodesk collaboration tools, including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

• Advanced knowledge and experience with Revit, AutoCAD, NAVIS Works, and Blue Beam.

• Skilled in reading, interpreting, and analyzing MEP construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.

• Familiar with construction codes and standards, including NFPA 70 National Electrical Code.

• Self-motivated with the capability to manage workload and meet project deadlines with minimal oversight.

• Ability to adapt to shifting schedules and deadlines as required to accommodate contractor job specifications.

• BIM Technology Certification and Autodesk Certified Professional status are preferred.

• 5-7 years of experience and expertise in Electric Design are preferred.

• Skills in 3D Modeling, AutoCAD, Electrical Safety, Electrical Wiring, Microsoft 365, Quality Assurance, and Workflow Management.
