EHS Project Manager – HVDC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Serve as the main EHS leader and key point of contact for the entire project, including the EHS interface with the customer.

• Offer visible EHS leadership and proactive assistance to Project Management, consortium partners, and subcontractors.

• Foster and advocate for a robust safety culture, ensuring EHS is integrated into all project activities.

• Aid in the execution of the GE Vernova EHS strategy, standards, and programs.

• Act as the primary EHS liaison for the customer, consortium partners, and subcontractors.

• Stay informed about regulatory changes and trends, anticipating business impacts.

• Carry out and coordinate the delivery of EHS training, ensuring personnel within their scope are competent.

• Assist project management in implementing, monitoring, and continually enhancing the project’s EHS management and performance in accordance with GE Vernova requirements and applicable standards.

• Conduct and facilitate risk assessments and hazard analyses; define, monitor, and verify corrective and preventive actions.

• Organize and perform EHS audits, inspections, and site walks; promptly address findings and support resolution in a timely manner.

• Advocate for Safety as the foremost priority for all project participants, communicating proactively and leading by example.

• Report to the EHS Functional Leader as well as the project organization (dotted line).

• Ensure precise and timely registration, classification, and escalation of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions using designated EHS tools.

• Collaborate with the regional EHS leader and the project management team on incident investigations and reporting.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

• Recognized qualification as Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (Safety Specialist) in accordance with German regulations (DGUV) and SiGEKo.

• Demonstrated experience in a lead EHS role, preferably in construction, installation, or industrial project environments within HV electrical settings.

• Strong understanding of German occupational health & safety and environmental regulations, as well as environmental management on construction sites, permit-to-work, and control-of-work systems.

• Experience in multinational projects and work settings.

• Fluent in German (spoken and written).

• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

• Confident user of MS Office; familiarity with EHS management systems and digital EHS tools is advantageous.
