Educator – Casual

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Establish a friendly, secure, and inclusive environment for playgroups catering to children and their families.

• Collaborate with the Lead Educator to design and conduct playgroup sessions.

• Participate in discussions on various topics and share pertinent information with families.

• Facilitate inclusive group activities in accordance with Playgroup NSW principles and program guidelines.

• Ensure duty of care is maintained and report any hazards, incidents, or injuries.

• Assist in the setup and takedown of sessions.

• Adhere to child-safe practices and address any safety or wellbeing issues that arise.

• Encourage children’s interests, inclusivity, and participation, including age-appropriate decision-making.

• Sustain safe, engaging, and attractive learning environments.

• Operate the Possum PLAYVAN to various program locations on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure effective program delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of Cert III in Child Related Studies or currently pursuing a qualification in a relevant field.

• Experience in an early childhood setting.

• Strong understanding of development through play and positive parenting methods.

• Awareness of the significance of early learning attendance prior to school.

• Exceptional interpersonal abilities.

• Working With Children Check.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Capability and readiness to drive a larger vehicle.

• Availability during school terms on Tuesdays in Merrylands from 9:00am to 3:00pm, and Thursdays in Prairiewood from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

• Potential for an additional shift on Wednesdays.
