Education Cloud Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist sales teams in crafting Salesforce value propositions that align with the digital transformation and cloud adoption strategies of higher education clients.

• Utilize technical expertise, knowledge of the educational sector, and business insight as a customer-facing advisor.

• Collaborate with account executives and solution engineers during discovery workshops, enablement sessions, and architecture presentations.

• Design customer-focused business and technical architectures leveraging Salesforce technologies, industry expertise, EA frameworks, and Salesforce methodologies.

• Create business architecture documents, including visions, capability models, and assessments.

• Produce technical architecture documents such as current and future-state diagrams, roadmaps, design patterns, and reference architectures.

• Facilitate discussions on business and technical transformations using expertise in IT, cloud solutions, governance, systems engineering, and SDLC.

• Contribute to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and technical requirement documentation.

• Present best practices, reference architectures, and educational content at sponsored events.

• Work alongside alliances, product teams, industry groups, customers, partners, and Salesforce personnel.

• Oversee technical due diligence and risk management for customer interactions.

• Achieve assigned quarterly and annual performance targets.

• Provide insights to product management regarding essential capabilities and product direction.

• Act as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CTOs, enterprise architects, and university stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with Salesforce solutions and the Salesforce Platform.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in enterprise software implementation, system integration, or enterprise architecture fields.

• Knowledge of architectural principles related to cloud-based platforms, including SaaS, PaaS, multitenancy, and multi-tiered infrastructures.

• Understanding of security processes, standards, and challenges in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications.

• Familiarity with principles of network, application, and information security.

• Knowledge of enterprise application integration, including SOA, ESB, EAI, and ETL environments.

• Insight into EA topics such as process orchestration, BPM, CEP, Master Data Management, and BI/BA.

• Capability to understand generative and predictive Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Robotic Process Automation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with Salesforce Industry solutions including Public Sector Solutions and Education Cloud.

• Knowledge of Salesforce implementation technologies such as Force.com, Apex, Java or C#, JavaScript, mobile development, modern frameworks, REST, SOAP/WSDL, and API-driven integration.

• Exposure to AI technologies, particularly Salesforce Agentforce AI.

• Experience in architecting Agentforce extension points within existing organizations.

• Familiarity with Data Cloud prerequisites for Agentforce use cases.

• Background in agent observability and tuning.

• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Understanding of solution selling; sales/pre-sales experience is an advantage.

• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

• Position aligned with the Global Public Sector Business Unit serving higher education institutions and systems integrators in the US and Canada.
