This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of OTM's editorial output, overseeing everything from the initial concept and calendar to the final published product.
• Establish the editorial calendar and decide on coverage across the blog, The Directory, social media, and email communications.
• Manage the real wedding pipeline from the submission stage through to Instagram carousel publication.
• Oversee the editorial content of The Directory, ensuring it remains engaging and up-to-date.
• Supervise one direct report, the Retention Contributor.
• Collaborate with the integrated marketing team and report directly to the Integrated Marketing Director.
• Create and uphold an editorial calendar that aligns with company objectives and marketing channels.
• Craft stories and recurring features, including real weddings, Dream Registries, planning tips, shopping and gift guides, trend analysis, vendor and designer interviews, and coverage of seasonal and cultural events.
• Ensure editorial content aligns with launches, registry initiatives, brand partnerships, and campaign events while maintaining a clear distinction between editorial and promotional content.
• Monitor traffic, engagement, affiliate performance, and email metrics, using these insights to inform future content commissions.
• Review and respond to wedding submissions from couples, planners, and photographers.
• Curate weddings based on editorial criteria, including design, photography excellence, fashion, and sense of place.
• Actively seek out weddings through networks of photographers, planners, and designers.
• Conduct interviews with couples, planners, and photographers.
• Secure complete vendor credits and image sets, managing permissions and delivery timelines effectively.
• Write wedding features and headlines adhering to OTM's house style.
• Select and sequence images, create captions and credits, and publish content in the CMS.
• Adapt weddings into Instagram features, including image selection, sequencing, captions, and carousel creation, in coordination with the Social Media Lead.
• Write and edit blog content covering Dream Registries, planning advice, shopping and registry stories, gift guides, trend articles, interviews, and features on brands and designers.
• Implement SEO best practices, including search-optimized headlines and structure, internal linking, metadata, and refreshing evergreen content.
• Ensure affiliate and product links are accurate and up-to-date.
• Assist The Directory with vendor profile content, new listing onboarding, spotlights, roundups, and connections between Directory members and editorial content.
• Work with the Marketing Assistant to maintain accurate and current Directory listings.
• Identify opportunities to link Directory and blog coverage.
• Provide direction for, brief, edit, and review the Retention Contributor's contributions.
• Align retention initiatives with the editorial calendar to ensure email and lifecycle content draws from published material.
• Proven experience in wedding or bridal media, including an editorial position at a wedding or bridal publication.
• Demonstrated ability to manage an editorial calendar and determine content production.
• Exceptional writing skills with a portfolio showcasing published features.
• Capability to maintain a consistent house voice.
• Strong interviewing skills.
• In-depth knowledge of fashion, particularly in recognizing gowns and their significance.
• Experience in editing the work of others.
• Comfort in utilizing performance data to guide editorial choices.
• Proficiency in using Instagram as a publishing platform.
• Excellent organizational skills to handle approximately thirty concurrent projects at various stages.
• A unique editorial perspective.
• Nice to have: Experience with CMS platforms such as Shopify or WordPress.
