This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
• Diagnose issues related to server and network hardware, including fibre optic cables, optics, and other hardware components.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of circuit move, add, change, and disconnection orders (MACDs).
• Directly implement or supervise local vendor technicians in troubleshooting servers, circuits, and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure the physical installation of server and network cabling is done according to established cabling matrices.
• Conduct physical troubleshooting and fault analysis of servers and circuits.
• Provide continuous support for the production environment while collaborating with vendors, system owners, and other operational teams to resolve issues.
• Responsible for managing and tracking requests/orders and generating weekly reports.
• Document each implementation thoroughly.
• Participate in an On-Call Rotation for ad-hoc troubleshooting between internal teams and external providers.
• Assist with regional tasks during business hours related to maintenance work.
• Implement strategies for improving the Inventory Database, specifically for maintaining the Circuit and Spares Inventory database.
• Develop a plan to ensure an adequate supply of spares at each site/warehouse, triggering requests for additional spares when certain thresholds are reached.
• Initiate Site and Vendor Remote Hands requests for site audits as necessary.
• Update CDP/Internal documentation upon request and perform additional tasks as required.
• Utilize a ticketing system (JIRA) to track all requests.
• Collaborate with SCM, equipment vendors, and data centers to manage delivery timelines and time slots.
• Support process improvements and serve as the initial point of contact for vendor queries related to interconnection and troubleshooting.
• Create and track Colocation Inbound/Outbound shipments as needed.
• Maintain internal documentation regarding all Internet Provider contacts and circuit information.
• Schedule onsite technicians and facilitate site access requests for all ad-hoc and scheduled activities.
• Submit Vendor Remote Hands requests to assist with physical work on-site.
• Conduct regular audits of all server, circuit, and spare inventory.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT, or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in data center or corporate/enterprise IT infrastructure, adhering to IT best practices (ITIL) and equipment lifecycle processes.
• Proven experience in executing detailed Method of Procedures (MOPs) and technical instructions, while following documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant technologies, including fibre optics and various network interface types: form factors and protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities across technical, logistical, and process domains.
• Experience in planning and coordinating efforts with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, and vendors, particularly with Telecom ISPs and Colo Providers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and provide effective remote technical guidance and troubleshooting.
• Basic command-line skills in Linux/Unix and any switch OS CLI.
