This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Execute PCB layout assignments of low to medium complexity while receiving close guidance from senior designers.

• Implement ECAD design standards, layout guidelines, and established workflows during the completion of assigned work packages.

• Assist in the transition from schematic to layout, which includes component placement, basic routing, and setting up constraints.

• Ensure precision by reducing repeated errors and integrating feedback from checkers or mentors.

• Develop and revise ECAD documentation, including fabrication outputs, simple drawings, and design files.

• Actively communicate progress and seek clarification to ensure alignment with design objectives.

• Foster continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned and adhering to ECAD best practices.

• Collaborate with ECAD colleagues by sharing updates on tasks and executing necessary corrections.

• Aid in configuration management and compliance with ECAD standards.

• Gain knowledge in PCB placement, routing, constraint-driven design, multilayer stackups, high-speed concepts, fabrication, assembly outputs, DFM/DFA/DFT, PLM systems, and the complete PCB design lifecycle.

• Engage in structured reviews with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2-year post-secondary training) with at least 2 years of pertinent experience.

• Proficiency in PCB layout using ECAD tools, specifically Siemens Xpedition (Mentor / Expedition / Xpedition).

• Capability to execute PCB placement, routing, and fundamental constraint management within ECAD tools.

• Experience with multilayer PCB designs of low to medium complexity.

• Familiarity with generating fabrication outputs (Gerbers, ODB++, or similar formats).

• Comprehension of DFM/DFA principles and the ability to apply basic manufacturability considerations.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information related to this program/contract.

• Experience with Siemens Xpedition VX or 2504 versions is preferred.

• Knowledge of PCB stackups, differential pairs, and impedance-aware routing principles is preferred.

• Basic understanding of high-speed or mixed-signal layout considerations is preferred.

• Experience in participating in cross-functional reviews is preferred.

• Familiarity with PLM systems and ECAD data management practices is preferred.

• Experience with drafting or documentation tools; proficiency in BluePrint is strongly preferred.

• Exposure to regulated industries, such as aerospace, defense, or industrial sectors is preferred.

• Proven ability to quickly learn new ECAD tools, workflows, and standards is preferred.
