Electrical Designer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Execute technical tasks on designated projects under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer.

• Engage in technical studies, investigations, and design processes.

• Finalize electrical designs for assigned projects along with additional project responsibilities.

• Create and prepare drawings for electrical systems related to building projects.

• Carry out code reviews, lighting calculations, layouts for lighting and receptacles, one-line diagrams, as well as calculations for branch circuits, feeders, and services.

• Participate in meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects; prepare and distribute notes from these meetings.

• Perform site surveys to assess existing or proposed facility conditions.

• Collaborate with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, civil, and other relevant disciplines.

• Accompany senior staff/project managers on site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes.

• Assist in the preparation of punch lists and project observation reports.

• Adhere to TME's owner advocacy philosophy and core organizational values.


⛳️ Requirements

• A 2-year Technical Degree or Associate Degree in an Electrical-Related Field, or 2–3 years of experience as an electrical designer in an engineering or architectural/engineering design firm, or completion of Electrical Program/Course/Classes at a Community College combined with 1–3 years of electrician experience working for an Electrical Contractor, or a Journeyman Electrician License.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Revit, and AutoCAD.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Detail-oriented and prepared to manage multiple ongoing projects in a dynamic environment.

• Knowledgeable about the industry and the company’s competitors.

• Exceptional multitasking abilities, with the capacity to take on duties beyond the primary scope of work when required.

• Willingness to travel 25% of the time to job sites or office locations.

• Capability to perform physical tasks, including climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles; working in confined spaces; operating machinery and/or power tools; and lifting objects weighing between 20–100 pounds.

• Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Preferred: Experience with larger commercial projects, including those in healthcare, higher education, laboratories, and central energy plants.
