This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Oversee activities associated with the receipt of organ offers for transplantation.
• Assess organ offers to determine their suitability.
• Organize the procurement of organs and the necessary transplant arrangements.
• Adhere to OPTN/UNOS guidelines concerning post-transplant documentation.
• Act as the primary contact for prospective offers from procurement organizations.
• Coordinate the procurement and dispatch teams.
• Manage the transportation logistics of organs.
• Support the training of caregivers involved in organ preservation.
• Create and deliver professional educational programs.
• Collect, analyze, and report data on potential organ donors.
• Participate in selection committee meetings.
• Input data into the transplant database.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related discipline OR a degree/diploma from an accredited Nursing School, Respiratory Therapy Program, or Paramedic Program.
• At least one year of experience as an organ procurement coordinator OR relevant clinical experience in critical care or organ procurement/transplantation.
• Maintain valid licenses and necessary certifications (Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, or Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic).
• Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) designation by the American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC) is preferred.
• Previous experience in transplant or organ procurement.
• Relevant healthcare experience.
• Familiarity with UNOS/UNET systems and knowledge.
