This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.
β’ Assist the Intellectual Property Practice by overseeing patent prosecution docketing operations.
β’ Ensure adherence to firm and departmental policies and procedures.
β’ Provide both administrative and technical assistance to attorneys and other professionals involved in patent prosecution.
β’ Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative assistants to resolve patent-related matters.
β’ Maintain docketing databases for both domestic and international patent prosecution issues.
β’ Input, track, and manage deadlines while scanning and attaching relevant patent documents.
β’ Review communications concerning domestic and international patent filings, prosecution, renewals, and Patent Trial and Appeal Board issues to ascertain actions and due dates.
β’ Assess websites to check the status of both foreign and domestic patents.
β’ Conduct quality reviews of docketed events, deadlines, and matter details.
β’ Generate regular and on-demand docket reports for clients and legal teams.
β’ Support special projects and carry out other assigned responsibilities.
β’ 5-7 years of relevant patent docketing experience within a law firm or corporate legal setting.
β’ Significant responsibility for managing patent prosecution docketing.
β’ Extensive knowledge of U.S., international, and PCT patent docketing.
β’ Strong comprehension of USPTO regulations, international patent procedures, statutory deadlines, and national/regional phase requirements.
β’ Ability to analyze patent correspondence, calculate and confirm deadlines, identify potential docketing issues, and escalate concerns as necessary.
β’ Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
β’ Experience in supporting U.S. and international patent filings.
β’ High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
