Divisional Head of Procurement, Procurement Business Partner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a procurement strategy for the division that aligns with commercial, operational, and growth objectives.

• Oversee direct-material procurement across various locations.

• Establish procurement priorities, performance metrics, and operational methodologies.

• Create and execute strategies for categories, commodities, and suppliers focused on cost, quality, delivery, service, and resilience.

• Design and implement sourcing, negotiation, value-engineering, and cost-reduction initiatives.

• Lead negotiations, selections, and contracts with strategic suppliers.

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, R&D, and supply chain teams on specifications, standardization, substitutions, new product introductions, and make-or-buy decisions.

• Enhance supplier performance through segmentation, relationship management, and structured review processes.

• Identify and manage supply chain risks, including single-source dependencies, capacity limitations, supplier financial instability, and geographic concentration.

• Develop and execute mitigation and continuity plans for critical materials and suppliers.

• Represent the division to Group Procurement, communicating business needs, forecasts, specifications, and operational limitations.

• Coordinate the division's involvement in group sourcing projects, supplier assessments, and implementation strategies.

• Drive the adoption of group agreements, approved suppliers, and purchasing channels.

• Monitor savings, cost avoidance, working capital enhancements, and other benefits through financial realization.

• Strengthen procurement processes, systems, data management, governance, and commercial capabilities.

• Lead and mentor procurement team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive procurement experience in a complex, multi-site or international organization.

• Strong background in direct-material procurement within manufacturing, engineering, or a similar industrial setting.

• Proven track record in developing and executing category, commodity, and supplier strategies.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve procurement savings and translate them into financially recognized business advantages.

• Robust experience in sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.

• Practical experience in managing supplier performance, continuity, and supply chain risks.

• Familiarity with working in a matrix or center-led procurement environment.

• Confidence in influencing senior stakeholders and constructively challenging ideas without direct authority.

• Experience in leading, developing, and enhancing procurement teams.

• Strong commercial, analytical, and financial decision-making skills.

• Relevant degree, equivalent professional experience, or both.

• A recognized procurement qualification, such as CIPS, is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Willingness to travel to company sites and suppliers as necessary.

• Preference for candidates located in or around the Northeast.
