This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Recruits, presents, and promotes the ERIE Agency Career to potential Agents and producers.
• Selects, hires, trains, and nurtures new independent Agents to ensure they become self-sufficient and effective representatives of the company.
• Encourages ERIE's independent Agents to market ERIE products and services.
• Provides training on product knowledge, underwriting, service protocols, and Agency operations.
• Manages the resolution of complaints and inquiries from Policyholders, Agents, and claimants.
• Collaborates with the branch manager to promptly address underperforming Agents, ensuring they meet minimum contractual standards.
• Develops and maintains expertise in ERIE's commercial, personal, and life products, as well as IT tools and sales resources.
• Aids in ensuring that approved underwriting and technology tools, policies, plans, and objectives are well understood and effectively managed throughout the district.
• Responsible for providing local input for rate reviews.
• Acts as the direct link for Agents to the company.
• Functions as a field underwriter by inspecting and approving coverage for exceptional property and casualty risks within established binding authority limits.
• Collaborates with branch and home office teams to resolve sales and customer service issues faced by Agents.
• Serves as the company's direct connection to ERIE Agencies.
• Keeps our independent Agents informed with timely updates about new initiatives and changes to ongoing efforts.
• Implements best practices for customer service, marketing, sales, and underwriting at the Agency level.
• Sponsors and oversees all sales contests, promotions, and incentives at both the district and Agency levels.
• Acts as a licensed, non-commission company Agent skilled in selling ERIE products and services to customers and prospects.
• Functions as a knowledge broker for Agents.
• Maintains and applies up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments.
• Assists independent Agents and their teams in identifying and addressing all sales and marketing challenges and opportunities at the Agency level.
• Utilizes effective time management and business planning practices.
• Develops and executes Agency and district-level business plans and budgets to meet both long-term and short-term goals and objectives.
• Achieves annual goals for P/C and EFL sales, profitability, and long-term market share.
• Applies best practices for managing both new and experienced Independent Agents.
• Participates with the branch manager or designated representative in evaluating Agency performance trends and outcomes.
• Conducts personalized reviews of Agents' underwriting, re-underwriting, profitability, and compliance results, collaborating with Agents to implement necessary corrective actions.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of four years in sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing is required.
• An MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of experience in sales, underwriting, claims, or marketing OR participation in the DSM Training Program is required.
• Must reside in the assigned territory unless a relocation is approved by the company.
• A commitment to and understanding of ERIE's 'Above All in Service' philosophy is required.
• Significant local travel, including overnight stays, is required.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and email software is essential.
• Related industry designations such as CIC, CPCU, or CLU are preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
