This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Drive the growth of Tutor’s district sales operations from minimal revenue to significant annual earnings in the millions.
• Take ownership of the entire district sales process, encompassing opportunity development, executive engagement, RFPs, procurement, negotiations, and finalizing contracts.
• Identify priority districts and segments, and formulate strategies to engage and secure them.
• Enhance and refine Tutor’s district sales playbook, which includes ideal customer profiles (ICP), positioning, qualification processes, sales stages, and approaches to the district buying process.
• Create a qualified and measurable sales pipeline.
• Foster and strengthen relationships with decision-makers within districts.
• Provide market insights to pinpoint customer needs and product opportunities that facilitate scalable growth within districts.
• Collaborate with the Product team and the wider Tutor organization to translate customer feedback into actionable product and business strategies.
• Develop systems, processes, and communication routines that support effective growth.
• Potentially establish and lead a larger district sales organization as the business expands.
• Proven success in selling tutoring services to U.S. school districts at a significant scale.
• Personally secured competitive district contracts amounting to seven figures in annual revenue.
• Established relationships with senior decision-makers across U.S. school districts.
• In-depth understanding of district purchasing processes for tutoring services, including stakeholder dynamics, budgeting, RFPs, procurement, competition, and contracting.
• Experience in building a sales strategy within an ambiguous or early-stage setting.
• Comfortable in a hands-on role as a builder and seller without the support of a large team or established infrastructure.
• Ability to leverage customer insights strategically, distinguishing between high-value, recurring market needs and individual feature requests.
• Strong communication skills and reliable management of complex tasks.
• Capability to influence cross-functional partners without formal authority.
• High accountability for measurable outcomes and a willingness to adapt strategies based on evidence.
• Availability to maintain significant overlap in working hours with one of the Americas time zones.
