This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate closely with Program Leads and functional leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment and execution of development programs from initial development through clinical execution and commercialization.
• Oversee integrated program planning and execution, which includes development strategy, clinical development plans, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, risk management, and scenario analysis.
• Provide leadership and oversight for multiple R&D programs, effectively balancing strategic priorities, resource allocation, risk management, and execution across the portfolio.
• Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams (clinical, regulatory, CMC, manufacturing, commercial, statistics, preclinical) to achieve program objectives on schedule and within budget.
• Identify critical path activities, foresee risks and opportunities, create mitigation strategies, and facilitate prompt decision-making through team and governance meetings.
• Monitor program performance and prepare and present clear, concise updates, recommendations, dashboards, and decision packages for governance committees and senior leadership.
• Lead cross-functional meetings, promote accountability, and ensure timely resolution of actions and challenges.
• Develop and present program scenarios, risks, timelines, costs, and strategic options to aid executive decision-making.
• Spearhead problem-solving efforts, contingency planning, and resolution of complex development challenges.
• Collaborate with the VP of Program Management and other team members as necessary, promoting best practices in program management, governance standards, process enhancements, and organizational efficacy.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree (MS, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) is preferred. Requires a Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a related field, a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience, or a PhD/PharmD with 8+ years of experience.
• 5–10+ years of progressive, hands-on R&D Project/Program Management experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or related industry, including leadership experience in cross-functional development programs; level commensurate with experience.
• Proven experience supporting programs from early development through late-stage clinical development, registration, launch preparation, and/or commercialization.
• Experience in respiratory disease, pulmonary medicine, rare diseases, oncology, or other specialized therapeutic areas is preferred. Experience in pulmonary fibrosis, drug-device combination products, and/or inhaled therapeutics (INH) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• A comprehensive understanding of clinical development plans, clinical trial execution, drug development, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on patient-centered drug development, is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead with executive presence, positively influence performance excellence, and foster innovation across all therapeutic areas and levels.
• Experience in working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including clinical development teams, CMC, finance, medical affairs, portfolio management, and communications/corporate affairs.
• PMP or similar project management certification is desirable.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple complex programs simultaneously, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, and driving execution with urgency to meet critical development and business objectives is essential.
• Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Timeline, Smartsheet) and collaboration platforms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are crucial, including the capacity to influence and drive performance at all organizational levels.
• Self-motivated, independent, and adept at working effectively within a small team and a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15% for meetings as required.
