This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Drive the comprehensive medical communications strategy and its execution across various molecules and disease states.
• Oversee strategic planning and delivery for the medical communications function, encompassing content creation, educational efforts, and awareness initiatives.
• Spearhead the development of insight collection projects and publications in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Create and sustain scientific platforms, both internal and external content, as well as scientific and digital communication strategies.
• Direct congress planning and execution, which includes the content and design for medical affairs booths, scientific insights, competitive intelligence, and scientific symposia.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial teams, and Leadership on medical communications projects.
• Engage with KOLs, advocacy organizations, investigators, collaborators, and vendors.
• Set up internal scientific training, medical information, and grant review processes as needed.
• Ensure projects align with strategic goals, stay within budget, and are executed in a timely manner.
• Assist with Medical and Legal Review during the evaluation of medical affairs and future promotional/non-promotional materials.
• Perform all duties in alignment with company values, policies, and relevant regulations.
• An advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in a medical or scientific field is preferred; extensive medical-field experience may be considered in place of an advanced degree.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical company or medical communications agency.
• At least 3 years of experience in medical affairs, specifically in medical communications roles.
• Strong scientific understanding and experience in precision therapeutics is essential.
• Specific experience in gastrointestinal or lung cancers is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a focus on timeliness.
• Proven ability to build trust and respect with various partners.
• Agility and adaptability across different therapeutic areas in a rapidly growing biotech company.
• Demonstrated history of timely decision-making, effective prioritization, and solution-oriented problem-solving.
• Capability to achieve high-performance goals and meet strict deadlines.
• A collaborative team-player mindset with the ability to devise creative solutions to complex challenges.
• Experience in budget management and vendor relationships.
• Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry's legal and compliance landscape.
• A strong learning orientation, curiosity, and dedication to science and patient care.
• Willingness and ability to travel 20–30% domestically and internationally for key internal and external professional events.
