This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee Idera’s global tax operations, encompassing U.S. federal, state, local, international, transfer pricing, and indirect taxes.
• Formulate and implement tax strategies aimed at managing global cash taxes, effective tax rates, tax risks, and ensuring compliance.
• Act as the primary tax advisor to the CFO and the Finance leadership team.
• Track global tax developments and evaluate their impacts on business operations, legal entities, cash flows, and financial statements.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Corporate Development, and international finance teams.
• Lead, nurture, and guide the internal tax team while managing external tax advisors globally.
• Direct international tax planning and compliance efforts across global operations.
• Optimize and manage worldwide legal entity and tax structures, including restructuring and entity rationalization.
• Oversee U.S. international tax matters, such as foreign tax credits, E&P, GILTI, and FDII.
• Supervise the global transfer pricing strategy, documentation, intercompany arrangements, and compliance.
• Address tax obligations across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and other international jurisdictions.
• Serve as the tax lead for acquisitions and strategic transactions.
• Manage tax due diligence, transaction structuring, modeling, tax risk assessment, and the integration of acquired businesses.
• Oversee global income tax provisions and tax accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Supervise federal, state, local, and international income tax compliance.
• Create and uphold cash-tax forecasts for Finance and Treasury leadership.
• Lead global indirect tax initiatives, including U.S. sales and use tax as well as international VAT/GST.
• Head U.S. federal and state tax audits while overseeing international tax audits and inquiries.
• Identify, document, communicate, and mitigate significant tax risks.
• Maintain tax policies, documentation, processes, and internal controls.
• Develop a scalable, technology-driven global tax function.
• Leverage AI, automation, and data analytics for tax research, compliance, forecasting, reconciliations, reporting, and planning.
• Collaborate with Finance and technology teams to enhance tax data accessibility and minimize manual processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.
• CPA is highly preferred; a Master's in Taxation or another relevant advanced degree is advantageous.
• 8+ years of progressive tax experience, including substantial U.S. corporate and international tax expertise.
• Strong technical understanding of U.S. federal and international taxation, encompassing GILTI, FDII, foreign tax credits, E&P, and related reporting.
• Experience with multinational corporations, global transfer pricing, intercompany arrangements, and cross-border transactions.
• Solid grasp of ASC 740 and the tax implications on U.S. GAAP financial statements.
• Familiarity with state and local income taxes as well as indirect taxes.
• M&A tax due diligence, structuring, and integration experience is strongly preferred.
• Public accounting background, especially with a Big Four or national accounting firm, is preferred.
• Experience in software, SaaS, technology, or other multinational corporate sectors is preferred.
• Advanced Excel capabilities and financial analysis skills.
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess / ProSystem fx Tax, Sage Intacct, or similar tax and ERP platforms is beneficial.
• Proficiency in AI, automation, analytics, or emerging technologies within tax or finance is highly valued.
• A business-oriented tax leader with considerable technical depth and sound judgment.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to translate complex tax issues into clear business ramifications and recommendations for senior executives.
