This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the management of landfill gas collection, wellfield operations, gas recovery, and RNG production support across various facilities.
• Standardize operating procedures, performance expectations, and execution practices in the field.
• Supervise wellfield balancing, tuning, gas quality management, and enhancements in collection efficiency.
• Optimize wellfield performance to boost gas recovery, stabilize gas quality, enhance reliability, and minimize production losses.
• Formulate corrective action plans addressing poor well performance, air intrusion, condensate problems, excessive vacuum, and other related issues.
• Collaborate with Operations and landfill teams to synchronize wellfield conditions, processing requirements, production stability, and financial outcomes.
• Take charge of the long-term wellfield development strategy for the landfill portfolio.
• Create annual and multi-year capital plans aimed at wellfield expansion, replacement, and optimization.
• Prioritize projects by evaluating gas recovery potential, regulatory demands, operational risks, capital necessities, and financial returns.
• Review designs, specifications, construction plans, contractor proposals, and opportunities for system expansion.
• Oversee construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with design, schedule, budget, safety, and operational standards.
• Guarantee adherence of gas collection systems to federal, state, local, permit, and environmental regulations.
• Supervise monitoring, inspections, recordkeeping, reporting support, and corrective actions for wellfield compliance.
• Assist Environmental and Regulatory teams during inspections, audits, permitting activities, and interactions with agencies.
• Identify compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Create dashboards, standardized reports, benchmarks, and forecasts regarding performance, recovery, compliance, uptime, and lost production.
• Analyze operational data, SCADA, GIS, monitoring systems, and field insights to spot trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead and cultivate the wellfield organization across the company's landfill and RNG portfolio.
• Define staffing requirements, organizational structure, responsibilities, training standards, and performance expectations.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop wellfield managers, supervisors, technicians, and field staff.
• Build succession plans and enhance technical leadership.
• Advocate for safety, accountability, compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Manage drilling, construction, environmental, monitoring, and specialty contractors from proposal review to project completion.
• Establish performance expectations, safety requirements, and standards for project execution for contractors.
• Manage contractor relationships in collaboration with Procurement, Operations, and executive leadership.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to design specifications.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for landfill gas wellfield strategy, operations, development, and performance enhancement.
• Provide counsel to executive leadership on wellfield strategy, capital investments, staffing, compliance, and production opportunities.
• Support acquisition due diligence and technical evaluations for potential landfill gas and RNG projects.
• Assess wellfield conditions, development needs, and operational risks at potential acquisitions.
• Scale standardized systems and processes to facilitate portfolio growth and ensure consistent execution.
• Enhance EBITDA through increased gas recovery, lowered operating costs, and improved facility utilization.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, operations, construction management, or a related technical field.
• Over 8 years of experience in landfill gas, RNG, landfill operations, wellfield management, or environmental compliance.
• Direct experience in managing landfill gas collection systems and wellfield performance.
• Strong technical expertise in gas collection, wellfield balancing, gas quality, condensate management, and gas utilization.
• Experience in managing well installation, collection-system development, and related field execution activities.
• Proven experience in leading technical teams, field personnel, contractors, and cross-functional project partners.
• Understanding of landfill gas, environmental, permitting, monitoring, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience in developing operating budgets, capital budgets, forecasts, and project-level business cases.
• Strong analytical, financial, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness and capability to travel frequently across the company's landfill and RNG portfolio.
