Director, VA & Federal Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a representative for Agile Six at industry conferences, VA industry days, and partner events, with travel expected for approximately 1 day per week within the MD/N.VA/DC region; national conference travel is also anticipated.

• Cultivate relationships with program offices and partners that lead to genuine opportunity development, not merely introductions and follow-ups, with an emphasis on VA OIT, VHA, VBA, and the wider federal health ecosystem.

• Collaborate directly with active VA delivery teams to sustain client intelligence, pinpoint expansion opportunities within current programs, and ensure that business development strategies are informed by the real experiences of our teams on the ground. This will serve as your primary competitive advantage in this sector.

• Assess potential opportunities based on their strategic alignment, likelihood of success, and delivery coherence. Not every opportunity that appears favorable on paper warrants pursuit.

• Keep abreast of the procurement pipeline, competitive landscape, and market changes across your target agencies. Provide insights that influence strategy rather than just reports that collect dust.

• Facilitate partner and teaming negotiations in a manner that upholds the integrity of the delivery model, as the structure is as important as the relationships formed.

• Collaborate closely with the Communications and Proposals team on market research, RFP analysis, and proposal formulation.

• Take ownership of and manage the VA and federal health business development pipeline with discipline and transparency.

• Identify and cultivate subcontracting and teaming opportunities with larger prime contractors. Assist in joint venture pursuits through Intuitial Six and Theta Six.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in business development, partnership management, or a comparable strategic role in technology, digital services, or consulting.

• In-depth knowledge of the VA ecosystem, gained through government service, industry, or a combination of both. Familiarity with the operations of OIT, VHA, and VBA, as well as insights into procurement decision-making processes, is essential.

• Awareness of SDVOSB set-aside dynamics and VA-specific procurement mechanisms.

• Exceptional communication abilities, with a focus on achieving results through relationship cultivation, beyond simple introductions and follow-ups.

• Proven experience working collaboratively across contracts, finance, and delivery teams.

• A genuine, values-driven approach, with the capacity to embody Agile Six's core values in high-pressure situations.

• A demonstrated ability to employ AI-enabled tools in your own business development practices, exercising sound judgment regarding where human context remains critical.
