This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and cultivate a multidisciplinary engineering organization encompassing software engineering, platform engineering, data engineering, and scientific/genomic science pipelines.
• Foster a culture of high accountability and performance rooted in ownership, excellence in execution, continuous learning, and impactful customer outcomes.
• Recruit, mentor, and nurture engineering leaders and high-potential talent.
• Establish clear operational mechanisms, engineering standards, and scalable collaboration methods across teams.
• Promote organizational health, engagement, and retention within the technology division.
• Define and implement the company's technology strategy in collaboration with the Chief Product Officer.
• Ensure architectural decisions align with goals for scalability, reliability, security, and long-term business objectives.
• Direct Embark’s engineering strategy for AI-driven product development, internal processes, and software development methodologies.
• Collaborate with Product, Science, and Data teams to uncover opportunities where AI and machine learning can enhance customer experiences and drive operational efficiencies.
• 8-10+ years of advancing engineering leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading senior engineering leaders across diverse teams.
• History of owning engineering strategy and execution for consumer-facing digital products.
• Profound understanding of contemporary software architecture, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience in driving cross-functional initiatives that involve product, engineering, data, and business teams.
• Strong grasp of data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and AI/ML applications.
• Background in establishing engineering operating models, organizational structure, and scalable development processes.
