Director, Technical Sales Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Guide the technical pre-sales function in support of mid-market and enterprise opportunities

• Collaborate with Sales leadership on deal strategies, qualifications, and solution positioning

• Foster consistency in discovery, solution design, and technical storytelling

• Enhance win rates, deal sizes, and the efficiency of sales cycles through technical excellence

• Provide support for complex deals, including customized solutions and high-value accounts

• Ensure strong alignment between technical solutions and customer business outcomes

• Lead executive-level technical discussions with customers and prospects

• Simplify complex hosting/cloud solutions into clear, business-relevant value propositions

• Establish trust with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Build, lead, and cultivate a high-performing team of Sales Engineers

• Create best practices, playbooks, and enablement frameworks

• Mentor the team on both technical expertise and commercial insight

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to relay field feedback

• Work together with Customer Success to ensure seamless transitions post-sale

• Oversee the development of scalable demo environments and proof-of-concept frameworks

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Pre-Sales

• 3–5+ years of experience leading teams in a Director or senior leadership role

• Proficient in hosting, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, or developer-oriented products

• Proven success in influencing enterprise or complex deals

• Excellent communication skills—capable of translating technical details into business value

• Experience collaborating closely with Sales leadership in a revenue-driven environment
