This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and develop the strategic sourcing and procurement function at Thermo Systems, encompassing governance, operational rhythms, supplier engagement, and expenditure visibility.
• Formulate preferred and tiered supplier strategies across critical spend categories, clearly defining expectations for cost, lead time, quality, service, and performance.
• Negotiate supplier contracts that enhance pricing, terms, availability, service levels, and long-term value for Thermo Systems.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, rebates, supplier consolidation, and commercial leverage as Thermo continues its growth trajectory.
• Assist the Commercial and Technical Sales teams by providing supplier quotes, budgetary pricing, RFQs, and buyout assumptions during proposal and pre-award phases.
• Centralize and enhance project procurement execution, including RFQs, supplier negotiations, purchase order execution, expediting, and supplier follow-ups.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, and Finance to ensure procurement decisions are aligned with technical requirements, project budgets, scheduling needs, and customer commitments.
• Develop strategies for supplier availability, including supplier-held inventory, reserved capacity, blanket agreements, and long-lead material initiatives.
• Manage enterprise procurement in areas of clear value, such as IT, software, professional services, facilities, freight, general leasing, and other indirect expenditures.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, procurement, business, operations, engineering, finance, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant supply chain/procurement certification is advantageous.
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, category management, supplier management, or related operational roles.
• Experience in establishing or scaling procurement processes, supplier strategies, category plans, sourcing standards, or procurement operating models within a growing organization.
• Preferred experience in supporting project-based, engineering, construction, industrial automation, systems integration, manufacturing, or technical services sectors.
• Proven experience in negotiating supplier agreements, enhancing payment terms, managing RFQ processes, and achieving cost savings or cost avoidance.
• Preferred experience in people leadership or a demonstrated ability to guide cross-functional efforts through influence.
